Who You Are Matters
- I come from Israel which is a country in the Middle East. In Israel there are a variety of cultures, and races such as Jews, Arabs, and Christians. The capital of Israel is Jerusalem, which is a holy city for the three religions.
- I am going to visit Israel for the summer break and be with my family.
- My dad is a kind of person who always find a solution to a certain problem. Since I am playing competitive and professional tennis for 17 years already, it forced me to not give up, have an open mindset and try to find a solution to a certain problem both during a tennis match and in life. My mom and I are sensitive and have a very high emotional intelligence.
- On the other hand, I am unlike my parents. My dad really like to read books and I fall asleep while trying to do so. (Hopefully I will improve that for this class). My mom is really stressed from everything, and I am calmer and let things flow.
- I think that I developed my own expectations from a young age, since I had only one goal - to become a successful tennis player. I did everything I could in order to be a better player. On the other hand, even though it is only me playing, I had to try and fulfill the expectations of my coaches and parents as well since they put a lot of money and time for my success.
- Someone who lives life with passion, and I have admired since I was young is Rafael Nadal (a Spanish tennis player, ranked number 2 in the world). He is fighting for every point and never give up no mater what the score is. This is something that I try to adapt for every activity that I am doing.
- A wild animal that I feel special with is a lion. For me a lion has always been a symbol of power and control. If the lion will not chase and hunt his food, he will starve to death. For me, it is a metaphor for life which teaches me to chase my dreams and always look forward for new opportunities.
Hi Mortennis! It is amazing how long you have played tennis. I have always wanted to learn it and have failed a few times doing so. I hope one day I can at least play a full game, but for now I will just watch it. Visiting family is always a highlight of my year and I hope yours is too this summer!
ReplyDeleteHi Mor! I loved reading your post. I also played tennis competitively in high school and I think it is truly the best sport. Also, Nadal is easily my favorite player! Although I also love Federer so I don't think I could choose between the two. Good luck with all of your upcoming tennis matches :)
ReplyDeleteHey Mor! I really liked reading your responses. My family and I have always wanted to visit Jerusalem, but we haven't found the time to go. I applaud you for how much you’ve committed yourself to your goal of becoming a successful tennis player! I wish you the best of luck on your journey!
ReplyDeleteHi Mor, it was great to read your blog. I see that we relate in a couple ways. My Dad likes books whereas I don't necessarily prefer them, and I also find my Mom to be more stressed out than I am a lot of the time. And while tennis is one of the only sports I haven't played, I love watching it and I also support Rafa Nadal. He's an amazing athlete who I have a lot of admiration for. Good luck in your goal of becoming a tennis superstar!
ReplyDeleteThat was me (Nevin Jonson) by the way. I copy/pasted it down below.

ReplyDeleteMor-- I am also a Taurus! When if your birthday? Obviously we're the best sign because we show a lot of resilience and determination, which is clear through your involvement in professional tennis. I currently work in a tennis shop, so it's been exciting having the grand slam circuit almost back to normal! I think its really interesting that you come from and spend time in Israel, and I hope your family has been safe throughout this year. - callie butler
