"Krembo Wings"

ABOUT US

Following the motto “Together, creating a meaningful place for everyone”, Krembo Wings is an Israeli youth organization, a leader in social change, the first and only of its kind in the world, for population with and without special needs. Krembo Wings holds a social and educational informal activity once a week, and its joint activity contributes to increasing awareness of special populations and social accessibility, while addressing their emotional and social needs, and their integration in our society. (Krembo Wings).

MISSION OF ORGANIZATION

The organization goal is to bridge the gap between children with and without special needs. The main purpose of the organization is to enable every child living with any type of motor, cognitive or sensory disability, to take part in enjoyable social interactions between one another, and their able-bodies peers, and become part of community life. (IsraelGives). 

UNIQUENESS ANS PASSION

The population with special needs, is more than often detached from our society, and its integration back into our community is a real challenge. By trying to help and support them, they receive the ability to break their life routine and cultivate feelings of independence. The activities included in the movement are games, arts and crafts, music etc. The movement does not involve to much sport in its routine, and that’s exactly where I get into the picture. Since I have volunteered every summer in tennis coaching of population with special needs, I noticed how sports stimulates hidden strengths among them, help increases their motivation, contributes to their self-confidence, improve communication and concentration, and creates a healthy social climate for interacting with others. In addition, I also coach from time to time in order to earn some money in the summer. Recently I coached a guy who happened to be the chairman of Krembo Wings organization. I didn’t know if it was a coincidence or fate, but I immediately consulted with him how can we cooperate and combine tennis exhibition games, and tennis coaching within his organization. He was very excited, and told me that he will try to develop and promote my idea.

WHY TO INVEST IN KREMBO WINGS? 

Thanks to this program, this population is privileged to cultivate independence and ability to develop friendships with other participants, while putting difficulties aside, and having the feeling of an integral part of the society. In order to bridge the gap among population with and without special needs, non-profit social organizations such as Krembo Wings, must continue to evolve, grow, and spread around the world. I think that AMDP should consider investing in Krembo Wings, and help them expand to many more countries and communities around the world.
